8 Things to do in Tacoma before the RCSW Respiratory Care Conference

If you are from out of town and coming to the 44th Annual Pacific Northwest Regional Respiratory Care Conference and Scientific Assembly, you may plan on enjoying some of what the Seattle-Tacoma area offers before the conference.  Althought Seattle offers a lot of things to do, it isn't the only option in the area. Here are just a few suggestions on how you may want to spend Friday and Saturday in Tacoma.

How to get to Tacoma

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Seattle Airport Conference Center is conveniently located by Sea-Tac Airport. Access to the airport and car rentals is within easy walking distance just a few blocks of the hotel and Sound Transit bus service is less than one block north of the hotel (across S 176th Street)  - map.

What to do when you get there

America’s Car Museum (ACM) spotlights America’s love affair with the automobile, featuring a nine-acre campus and up to 350 cars, trucks and motorcycles from private owners, corporations, and the LeMay collection

Point Defiance Park is a bit like Central Park.  This 760-acre park is a popular destination for more than 3.1 million people each year. Natural forest, saltwater beaches and spectacular views offer numerous possibilities for recreation, education and communing with nature. - map
