Carl R. Hinkson, RRT, Assistant Manager of Respiratory Care, Harborview Medical Center, Seattle, WACarl Hinkson is the Assistant Manager of the Respiratory Department at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, WA. He graduated from Highline Community College and has been a respiratory therapist for fifteen years. He obtained his BSRT from the University of Kansas in 2008 and is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Respiratory Care from Northeastern University in Boston, MA (online). After Carl completes the program he will be the first RT in Washington State to hold a MS in Respiratory Care.

Carl has published articles in both Respiratory Care and the AARC Times and has given presentations locally and on the national level. Carl’s two main areas of professional interest are the use of journal clubs for RT education and esophageal pressure Carl Hinkson is the Assistant Manager of the Respiratory Department at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, WA. He graduated from Highline Community College and has been a respiratory therapist for fifteen years. He obtained his BSRT from the University of Kansas in 2008 and is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Respiratory Care from Northeastern University monitoring to guide ventilator management in ALI/ARDS.

Carl began his involvement in the RCSW in 2004 as the Puget Sound Chapter Secretary. He has held many elected positions and served as president in 2010. Carl is the legislative co-chair along with Gary Wickman and travels to Washington DC and Olympia frequently to lobby on behalf of the RT field.
